Sunderland College was chosen by the Football Association to kick-off a national girls’ 2017 football campaign - Girls' Football Week. The Fun Experts were thrilled to provide football-related inflatables to inject some FUN into the day.
The special week for promoting girls' football, ran from 6 – 12 November this year. The goal (pardon the pun!) was to encourage more young females to get involved in the sport - and possibly discover some new football stars of future!
The college, which has it’s very own Football Development Centre, organised an inter-school 5 a-side girls' football tournament as part of the national FA event. They hosted two tournaments - one for under 14s and another for under 16s. In total, over 160 girls participated at the event, which was aired on Sky Sports News, attracting national attention and trending on Twitter!
Lucy Oliver, Sports Development Officer at the college, felt that the tournament needed to be FUN as well as competitive. She contacted The Fun Experts because the company provide inflatable football-related games and she couldn't source any locally. And as The Fun Experts covered the whole of the UK with their fun equipment hire service, they could provide the college with two popular and fun large inflatables, namely Football Darts and a Football Shoot Out game. These products fitted the bill exactly!
The impressive and colourful inflatable games were a huge attraction at the event! The girls really enjoyed taking football penalties on the Football Shoot Out game and using the velcro footballs to take aim at the huge bullseye target of the Inflatable Football Darts.
Carly Sinclair, Sports Business Administration Apprentice at the college commented: “The feedback was all positive. The games pitch, which included the inflatables, was very popular. When the girls were not playing, they were all using the inflatables and therefore no one was standing around waiting for their next match.”
Carly was also impressed with the Fun Experts on the day: “The event team was very helpful and cooperative. They set up the equipment quickly and on time - and clearly communicated how to use it. If we held another event at Sunderland College where there needs to be a fun element, I will absolutely look into hiring more inflatables from The Fun Experts.”
