We make people smile...
...AND strive to do business in a more cultivated and savvy way, taking responsibility for the impact of our business on society and the environment!
We believe that we have a duty to help those who may be less fortunate because business should have the power to change everyone's lives. Making people smile is at the heart of everything we do. By choosing The Fun Experts, you'll automatically make people smile too!
Cash for Kids
Kicking off with a charity we've had the pleasure of working with and raising money for many times over the years, Cash for Kids is a fantastic charity dedicated to supporting struggling young people. Most recently, our Director of Fun, Jim, completed a fire walk at Hickory's Smokehouse and managed to raise lots of money for such a great cause. Other projects that we've worked on with Cash for Kids include hosting a Mission Christmas collection point, meaning people in the local area were able to drop off Christmas presents at our office, which were then collected by the Cash for Kids team and distributed to disadvantaged children in the local area. Buy1Give1 is an amazing organisation dedicated to helping companies use business for good with ease, signing up to B1G1 requires you to select a monthly budget that you would like to give to great causes and then choose the projects close to your heart that you would like to begin supporting. Through our partnership with Buy1Give1, we've been able to support charitable projects around the world from providing nutritious meals to people and animals in need to improving learning environments for children.
Donation to Blackpool Zoo
In 2022 we donated one of our Popcorn Machines to some of Blackpool Zoo's hungriest residents after discovering elephants have a taste for the freshly made treat! Popping that much corn each day was becoming a mammoth task for large mammal keeper, Lauren Shields, so we offered up one of our Popcorn Machines to make feeding time easier and more environmentally friendly for Blackpool Zoo. Two years on and after a little repair and renovation by Fun Expert Adrian, the Popcorn Machine is still much loved and enjoyed daily by the whole herd!
St Catherine's Hospice
Based in Preston, St Catherine's Hospice is a charity close to us who are dedicated to providing quality care to local people nearing the end of their lives. It's great to support local charities, especially when they do such amazing things for people so close to you, so over the years we've done our best to show our support wherever we can. This has included donating hand sanitizer dispensers and temperature readers, that we used at restricted events during the pandemic, to their in-patient unit and our Director of Fun, James and daughter Jas hiking up Scafell Pike to raise money for St Catherine's Hospice.
Climbing The Big One
Another Cash for Kids fundraiser that deserves a section of its own, when The Fun Experts put on their hiking boots and climbed to the top of The Big One. If you're local to the North West and were feeling brave on a trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, you might have been for a ride on the UK's tallest roller coaster, aptly named The Big One. But can you imagine climbing it? Ten of our Fun Experts don't have to because they actually did it, raising £1000 for Cash for Kids. It was a scary feat for Sunny in particular, as she conquered her fear of heights but all was worth it when they saw the view of Blackpool Illuminations from the top!
Macmillan Coffee Morning
What better reason to eat cake first thing in the morning? Every September, Macmillan Cancer Support encourages workplaces around the UK to bring their best baked goods and come together for a coffee and a catch up, all while raising money for a great cause! You don't have to tell us twice because sure enough when Macmillan Coffee Morning rolled around, the whole team enjoyed cakes and a cuppa (and a game of Atari Pong!) and managed to put together plenty of pennies to support Macmillan's mission to assist people battling cancer.
Odd Socks for World Down Syndrome Day
Another fun charity day we've had fun taking part in over the years, World Down Syndrome Day invites everyone to go a little crazy and wear odd socks for the day (the crazier the better!). Down Syndrome International have a number of aims throughout this campaign, namely to advocate for rights and opportunities for people with Down syndrome. To raise awareness, they encourage everyone to share their socks on social media with #WorldDownSyndromeDay and we've done just that, sharing social posts, YouTube videos and blogs.
The University of Central Lancashire's colour run event is held each year in aid of raising money for their chosen charity and invites their students, staff and the general public to get their trainers on and run a unique 5k race as clouds shower down on the runners and cover them in bright colours. The Fun Experts clan have ran two of their races over the years, bringing along our families too and it's always a great day with good vibes all around, as everyone is there for the same reason. When we last raced, UCLan were able to raise a fantastic £1,000 from everyone's registration fees, which was then donated to cancer charity Marie Curie.
The Fun Experts save the day
Christmas time is always a memorable occasion but perhaps for all the wrong reasons when many areas of the UK were hit by flash floods. One of these areas was Cockermouth, where the main street found itself well and truly submerged and many routes into the town rendered impassable. But not for The Fun Experts! Our team travelled to Cockermouth to provide a festive Santa’s Grotto, which we donated to the event to aid them in their Cockermouth by Candlelight procession. Our mission is to make people smile and this is more important than ever during the festive period. When we saw that Cockermouth were in need, we couldn’t resist to help in any way that we could.
Housing Children from Chernobyl
As Directors of The Fun Experts, Sunny and James believe that we can enrich the lives of others as a business and have the ability to change lives. They proudly hosted two Chernobyl children, Lina and Dasha, when they visited the UK as part of an organised charity event to extend the lives of children affected by the disaster. Not stopping there, Sunny and James arranged for The Fun Experts to provide a special fun day for all of the children, where they played Team Building Games and Sports Day Races!
Work Experience at Fun Towers
Back when we were Sunshine Events, Neil Sutch from the Royal Bank of Scotland approached us to come to Fun Towers for a back to the floor day to raise money for MIND, the Mental Health charity. Of course... we worked him really hard for the day, had lots of fun together and gave a donation to his charity! Neil commented 'I couldn’t think of anywhere I’d rather spend my time more than with The Fun Experts'. Hopefully we were a benefit and not a hindrance. We definitely brought the smiles!
