Sunshine Events 2018

As quick as it started, 2018 has come to an end and Oh My! What a fantastic year it’s been for all the Fun Experts! 

Taking a look back on the year, we’ve rubbed shoulders with the flat-out funny, picked up the keys to our new Milton Keynes depot, bagged some incredible industry awards and shared a stage with the unbelievably talented, all whilst delivering FUNtastic experiences up and down the country. 

The Keith and Paddy Picture Show

Back in April, our Fun Experts were asked to take part in series two of the Keith and Paddy Picture Show. The brief was simple: be a part of the production team to create a 70’s finale reminiscent of the cult classic, Grease.

*rolls up sleeves* Cue Sunshine Events and The Fun Experts!

After sharing ideas with their production team, the Fun Experts packed up their party tricks including our classic Funfair Side Stalls and Fun Food carts and headed down to the filming location of Slough (sunny California was not available at the time of filming).

All in all, our Fun Experts provided a perfect (and hilarious) homage to a timeless classic, but of course with the added spice of Keith and Paddy to give it that extra pizzazz.

The Fun Experts Are Coming To Milton Keynes! 

With the impressive growth that Sunshine Events have had in the last 12 months, now is the time for us here at Sunshine HQ to expand our depot in bringing the fun permanently to the South of the UK.

Based in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, our new state of the art depot will be a new home for our Fun Experts along with additional products such as Virtual Reality Experiences and Magic Selfie Mirrors just to name a few. 

Camille Bradshaw, our Sales and Development Manager says, "Opening the Milton Keynes depot is really exciting and something we have been working hard towards in the last year. We listened to our customers and their event requirements and are happy to offer even more competitive quotes with a brilliant service. It will enable us to service the whole of the UK, top to bottom, left to right. It has increased our storage space allowing us to purchase lots of new exciting equipment which we can't wait to share with everyone".

BIBAs 2018

We don’t mean to toot our own horn (ok… maybe just a little bit) but it's been a great year of recognition and wins for all of us here at Sunshine HQ. 

At the 2018 BIBAs we were nominated for five awards (yes you heard right the first time)! These amazing nominations included: 

• Creative Business of the Year 
• Employer of the Year
• Business Person of the Year (Director of Fun James Sandwell)
• Leisure Business of the Year
• Service Business of the Year

Being nominated for all of these awards was an absolute privilege in itself and left us feeling honoured that the hard work provided by the whole Sunshine Events team had been recognised at such a high standard.

Firstly, Sunshine Events won Creative Business of the Year and what an award to win! The creative element that Sunshine Events offers its clients is recognised fully with this award; part of our culture and values are represented by the creativity we offer and share via the events and equipment we provide to our clients and their guests.

AND THEN…

Lo and behold! Sunshine Events also walked away winning Service Business of the Year which recognises businesses that live and die by their ability to provide customers with exceptional service and the most innovative products, and deliver commercial excellence as a result.

Director of Fun, Sunny Sandwell was quick to share this award with each and every Fun Expert on stage and those at home or out on the road spreading the fun, each of whom worked toward this fantastic achievement.

Britain's Got Talent

Our Fun Experts aren't just specialists in creating a fun and vibrant atmosphere, we also have hidden talents in acting, interpretive dance, and even conducting the odd symphony.

So naturally, Britain's Got Talent wanted to get our Fun Experts involved behind the scenes (to give onstage contestants a chance, of course).

Our team of Fun Experts were able to to support Britain's Got Talent from the initial enquiry that very same morning to delivery, set up and operation by our dedicated team, all in a short period of time (though to avoid disappointment, we always recommend booking as early as possible!).

With the auditions being held in the nation's favourite seaside town of Blackpool, the show was shot at Blackpool's Winter Gardens. A fantastic venue the Fun Experts know well.

In keeping with everything Blackpool, the production team wanted Ant & Dec, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon, Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden to have some fun in the sun at the fair (unfortunately it doesn't shine a lot up North).

Creating a fun and exciting atmosphere is a talent our Fun Experts know inside and out. So, armed with our Coconut Shy and Hook a Duck, and of course POPCORN MACHINE, our stage was well and truly set. 

Overall, our Fun Experts went above and beyond for the folks over at Britain's Got Talent and we look forward to potentially adding a golden touch to their future events.

It’s been an exciting, memorable and FUNtastic 2018 for all of us here at Sunshine Events! Having entered the first few days of 2019, and our Milton Keynes depot just drying its last coat of paint, we are super excited to show you what we have cooking up for the year ahead.
