Christmas, A Time To Give Back

Christmas has a way of reminding us what really matters. Among the lights, the food, fun and festivities, it was also a time for our Directors of Fun James and Sunny to pause, reflect, and give back.

From our Fun Experts buying 100’s of toys for the Preston North End (PNE) Community Trust, purchasing a new TV for the Youth Boathouse Trust through to donating money, a delivery van and time to make sure 16 local families had Christmas dinner.

Each hamper was carefully put together to make sure families could enjoy a proper Christmas dinner and a few extra treats too. Inside every hamper was:

• A personal Christmas card from all of us
• Turkey and all the trimmings
• Vegetables, mash, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and gravy
• Drinks, chocolates, chocolate cake, and sweets
• A box of crackers to bring a bit of festive fun
• And a £15 gift voucher for each child in the family, so they could choose something just for themselves

It wasn’t just about food - it was about making sure these families felt thought of, supported and included during a time of year that can be incredibly hard for many.

Sunny, James, their children and their neighbour and hamper founder Gareth spent the entire day collecting, packing, and delivering each hamper discreetly, with dignity and care.

Sunny commented "By the end of the day we were all exhausted, but in the best possible way. Tired from lifting boxes, driving around, packing bags and meeting the families and taking time to talk. Knowing that 16 families would be able to sit down and enjoy a Christmas meal without that extra worry made every moment worthwhile."

Christmas is a time for generosity and goodwill to shine through and without fail, each and every year, you hear of the stories where people have supported others and often paying it forward to. From time to gifts, listening to sharing, being there for others brings everyone closer together during the harder times.
