Bringing FUN into the workplace with Fun Depot

The importance of having fun at work is a hot topic! Sunshine Events is a company which has built its business model with FUN at it’s core! Based in Preston, Lancashire, we are one of the largest owners and suppliers of Fun Equipment Hire covering the UK today. We bring to businesses and private clients an exciting collection of Corporate and Christmas Entertainment, Fun Days, Team Building Packages and so much more!

In 2014 we opened our very own online store - Fun Depot, in order to answer the demand for bulk quantities of fun products and novelties, complementing our main Fun Equipment Hire business.

Fun Depot, run by Dom Sudlow, provides wholesale event supplies through its specialist online store, which has developed a large base of regular Corporate and Private customers who want to bring some extra fun into their events and workplaces.

The Challenge

Dom was approached by Simon Payne of 313y Limited, London with a very big order for his Corporate client. The media representation specialists had been tasked with assisting one of the UK’s top FTSE 100 companies for an important internal communications campaign to bring fun into the workplace. 

The huge order placed by Simon involved Fun Depot’s staff processing 133 Fun Party Boxes for the client’s 36 individual sites. Each box contained a mixture of party hats and other novelties and were to be opened by workers of the company at the same date and time in their different locations across the UK.

What’s in the box?

Inside the Party Boxes was selection of fun, giggles and rewards for the lucky recipients including:

Captain hat – For the office captain!

Bow tie – For the office clown!

Tiara – For the office princess!

Giant glasses – For the office superstar!

Viking helmet – For the office sports hero!

Dom said: “We believe that a day without laughter is a day wasted, so we filled the box with lots of surprises to keep the office staff smiling!”

The order was the largest that Fun Depot had handled to date and involved three members of staff working for a whole day to collate the products and package them up before for the delivery company came to get the fun on the road in time for the event!

Simon Payne said: “Our client was delighted with the party props and their campaign was a roaring success. You can be rest assured that if we have any other projects of a similar nature, we will certainly be using Fun Depot again. Dom handled our initial enquiry and then subsequent order with a mix of friendly professionalism and efficiency.”
