Why We Are Switching to Rubber Cable and Why It Matters
At The Fun Experts, we're all about fun....the clues in the name. But safety and quality are at the core of everything we do. That is why we have made the decision to upgrade all of our equipment from blue Arctic PVC cable to rubber insulated cable.
While blue Arctic cable is still widely used and remains within UK standards, we have chosen to move to rubber cable because it offers greater durability and flexibility in the demanding environments we work in. Blue Arctic cable can become brittle more quickly, especially when exposed to outdoor conditions over time, making rubber a more practical and long-lasting choice for our event equipment.
By making the switch to rubber cable, we are giving our clients even greater confidence in the quality and reliability of our service. Rubber insulated cables are known for their excellent flexibility and resilience. They perform reliably in a wide range of conditions, from minus sixty degrees to over one hundred degrees Celsius. This makes them ideal for outdoor events where weather and temperature changes are a factor. Rubber cable is also resistant to oil, moisture, and many types of chemical exposure, making it a robust choice for varied environments.
In comparison, PVC cable softens under high temperatures and becomes brittle in cold conditions. While it is commonly used in fixed wiring, its use in temporary or mobile event equipment presents challenges in terms of long term safety and durability.
Rubber cables also have a longer service life, which supports our commitment to sustainability. Fewer replacements mean less waste and more efficient use of resources.
Our transition to rubber cable is another step in making sure The Fun Experts continue to provide the safest and most professional event experiences in the UK. As we continue to grow, we will always choose solutions that put safety, reliability, and compliance first.
