Sunshine Events Bring Family Fun To Tigers in The Park

Leicester Tigers supporters enjoyed plenty of sunshine and hours worth of family events and attractions at Tigers In The Park 2015, with the help of our corporate event planning experts!

We joined forces with Leicester’s rugby union club to throw a full day of free activities ahead of Saturday's home fixture against Newcastle Falcons.

Now in its fourth year, Tigers In The Park is an annual community event based on Nelson Mandela Park and this year took on a medieval theme as part of the Kings of the North tournament featuring Leicester Tigers, Newcastle Falcons and Sale Sharks in the build-up to the new league season.

Medieval-themed attractions included sword fighting, archery, falconry, inflatable jousting and minstrel music.

Katy Everett, said:

Tigers in the Park has been an incredible success for the last three years so expectations were high for this year to be bigger and better than ever before. We  knocked it out of the park with a fantastic family fun day and it couldn’t have been possible without the help of Sunshine Events.

“The staff went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great time in the run up to the pre-match festivities. It’s safe to say they definitely have the eye of the tiger!”

Sunshine Events provided the corporate family fun day’s entertainment hire including Archery, Giant Connect 4 and Giant Jenga, as well as a bouncy castle and Gladiator Joust Inflatable hire

There was also special player appearances and other attractions included facepainting, circus workshop, the Tigers Speed Pass Challenge and wheelchair rugby demonstrations, tag rugby and rugby skills sessions.

Sir Welford, the club mascot, made a grand appearance in special knight’s attire for the occasion; and Junior Tigers Club members were encouraged to take part in a prince and princess pitch parade.

James Sandwell, Director of Fun at Sunshine Events, added:

“We were delighted to be invited by Leicester Tigers to help them kick off the Kings of the North tournament with a fantastic family fun day. The medieval theme went down a storm with all the local supporters and in true Leicester style, the team won their opening game. It’s going to be difficult to top next year’s Tigers in the Park!”
